Typical PirIFORMIS mUSCLE & SCIATIC NERVE.
Sciatica is a sharp burning pain that starts in the buttocks and travels down the leg, it's usually caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve. This pressure occurs from tightness of the piriformis muscle, which runs across the buttocks and to the outer hip. In some cases the Sciatic nerve runs through the piriformis muscle, this can cause chronic pain. Stretching this muscle helps lessen and prevent sciatica pain. It has been advised that people keep a controlled motion while doing sciatica stretching exercises and avoid excessive twisting or bouncing to avoid further damage to the area.
